effect:hope Named Top 10 Impact Charity By Charity Intelligence Canada!

We are excited to share that Charity Intelligence Canada, a charity analysis organization, has named us  a  “Top Ten Impact Charity,” and a “Top Ten International Impact Charity.”  They evaluated 260 charities in 2020 and found that we were among the best at delivering “bang for buck.” This recognition confirms what we already know: your gifts are making a big difference.

“Some charities create a lot of change with the donations given to them,” says Greg Thomson, Director of Research at Charity Intelligence. “Of the 260 Canadian charities we analysed for impact, these Top 10 have the highest measurable demonstrated impact. Our calculations estimate this group of Top 10 Impact Charities delivers average returns of almost seven dollars for every dollar donated, compared with average returns of 1-2 dollars,” he added.

“It is an honour for Effect:Hope to be recognized for the work that we do to care for some of the worlds’ most vulnerable people struggling with disability and stigma due to neglected tropical diseases. Globally, 1.7 billion suffer from the effects of NTDs. For over 128 years, we have worked to eliminate suffering for as many as possible. We transform so many lives by addressing these diseases with upstream solutions like deworming, awareness programs and research, coupled with activities that improve health systems, and, of course, medical care for those in need”

- effect:hope Executive Director, Kim Evans

We are an impact-focused global health organization. For over 128 years, we have worked to eliminate suffering for as many as possible. The work we do with partners to transform the lives of those living with neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) touches over 4 million people annually.

Globally, 1.7  billion suffer from the effects of NTDs. Leprosy, Buruli ulcer, lymphatic filariasis, STH, and 13 others are life-limiting diseases that cause disability, mental illness, and entrench people in poverty.  Those living with the effects of NTDs also face many other health, socio-economic, and gender-based issues. For such a complex problem, multi-pronged solutions, and programs that are proven to work are critical. Because this is our approach, you know that your investment will have impact.

We are thrilled to receive this acknowledgment from Charity Intelligence Canada. Celebrate this recognition with us! Without your help, we would not be able to restore the lives of those affected to a welcome place in their community. We are honored to be recognized for this impact - we couldn't do this without you.

Thank you!
