Although it’s been 40 years since we began curing leprosy, a mildly infectious disease, discriminatory laws continue to segregate and isolate people affected by leprosy from their communities–and even their families–around the world.
Effect Hope is partnering with other leprosy organizations to take action against the 130 discriminatory laws against people affected by leprosy in 29 countries. The petition will be presented to the Human Rights Council of the United Nations in September 2021.
We believe that the discriminatory laws against people affected by leprosy are a fundamental human rights issue. We must do everything to get rid of them. Will you join us?
You can sign a petition and help eliminate discrimination against people affected by leprosy.
