StorIES of Hope
For more than 15 years, Chanda Bai lived with burning pain and swelling in her leg. Each flare-up meant a costly, hours-long journey to the hospital, where she received painkillers, but no diagnosis or lasting relief. Eventually, she gave up and learned to live with the pain.
Then, a community health screening connected Chanda to the care that changed everything. She was diagnosed with lymphatic filariasis (LF) and taught a daily self-care routine she could follow at home. With the right supplies and techniques, she could finally manage her condition herself.
