Every Christmas, the opening lines of ‘Joy to the World’ stir something within us—a joy that we are called to share, just as Jesus shared His love.
“Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing.”
Christmas celebrates the hope and joy and love that came into the world with the arrival of a baby in a manger – a gift beyond measure or compare. In this season we ask ourselves: how can we reflect this gift into our world? How can we share even a small part of that love in our own lives, and through our own actions?
For Effect Hope, we’ve chosen to reflect His love by bringing hope, healing, and joy to some of the most forgotten and marginalized corners of the globe. Together with our partners, and with your faithful support, we have worked for 132 years to improve the lives of those affected by leprosy and other neglected tropical diseases. Together we are bringing joy to the world: the joy of healing, the joy of being welcomed back into one’s community, and the joy of being seen as worthy of love and care.

Thanks to your donations, Effect Hope has been able to support life-changing medical care, rehabilitation, and community programs for people affected by leprosy and NTDs. Where there was once fear and stigma, you have helped bring healing and acceptance. Where there was once despair, you have helped bring hope.
