At 71, Jaluram, a farmer from Kailari, Nepal, began noticing strange skin patches and nerve problems, unaware they were signs of leprosy.

After initial attempts with traditional healers, a local health volunteer referred him to a clinic in 2021. The diagnosis brought him fear, stigma, and isolation—but with mental health support, counseling, and education, Jaluram found hope and strength.

With renewed confidence and a proper treatment plan, Jaluram is no longer alone. Today, he faces his condition with courage—and helps others do the same.

At 12, Khusboo struggled with painful claw fingers, making writing nearly impossible and leaving her behind in school.

In 2023, she was diagnosed with leprosy during a community health camp and began Multi-Drug Therapy. With the support of health workers, volunteers, and a Self-Help Group, she underwent reconstructive surgery, followed by counseling and regular care.

Today, Khusboo’s hands have healed, she’s back in school, and she receives government support—ready to embrace her future with confidence.

As a teenager in Côte d’Ivoire, Konan developed elephantiasis, forcing him to leave school and face stigma and isolation.

A health worker from Hope Commission International diagnosed and treated him, providing the care he needed. In January 2024, Konan received a cassava grinding machine, allowing him to earn a living, support his family, and restore his dignity.

Today, he manages his condition and is building a future with pride, purpose, and resilience.
