Effect Hope Joins the West Coast Women’s Show

Raising awareness for FGS at the WCWS

From November 21-23, Effect Hope will be part of the West Coast Women’s Show in Abbotsford, BC raising awareness for female genital schistosomiasis (FGS).

This weekend (November 21-23), Effect Hope will raise the spotlight on women’s health as a major exhibitor at the 25th anniversary of the West Coast Women’s Show in Abbotsford, BC at TRADEX. Celebrated as “Western Canada’s Largest Women’s Event”, this show draws over 40,000 attendees, featuring over 300 exhibitors, celebrity appearances, live presentations, and panel discussions.

At this year’s event, Effect Hope will be raising awareness for a critical, yet often overlooked neglected tropical disease known as Female Genital Schistosomiasis (FGS)—an NTD that remains largely invisible despite affecting 56 million women and girls worldwide. Caused by a parasite found in contaminated freshwater across sub-Saharan Africa, FGS leads to chronic pain, infertility, and social stigma.

By taking part in the West Coast Women’s Show, Effect Hope has the opportunity to connect with thousands of women, bringing this crucial health crisis to centre stage, and inspire action.

Register here to attend the event and stop by our booth to connect and learn more. Discover our digital campaign, HER, and help bring lasting change to women and girls affected by FGS.
